Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar has invited Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy, a JD(S) leader for the proposed Mekedatu padayatra undertaken with the demand of immediate implementation of the Mekedatu project.
His invitation comes a day after HDK’s verbal attack on him. “This is a apolitical padayatra. So, anyone can participate. I invite HDK also,” he stated in Mandya, a strong bastion of JD (S).
Congress which is confident of returning to power in 2023 State Assembly election, is trying to consolidate its vote bank in the South Karnataka region through this padayatra.
Shivakumar and Former CM Siddaramaiah will together lead the padayatra to be held between Mekedatu and Bengaluru.
