Bengaluru: According to reports, a migrant labourer from West Bengal was arrested by Bengaluru Police for the alleged rape of a minor girl.
The accused has been identified as Saurav Mistry, a 23-year-old labourer from 24 Parganas in West Bengal who allegedly raped the minor on Sunday September 19 after he took the five-year old girl on the pretext of showing her a video on his mobile phone.
It is said that the girl returned home crying and complained to her parents about the accused and they approached the Police and lodged a complaint.
The Police acted swiftly and arrested the migrant worker.
A crowd had gathered near the Police station demanding them to release the accused to them. They dispersed after the Police assured them that they would ensure justice to the victim and punishment to the accused.
