Bengaluru: Keeping in mind the disaster caused by the flood in most part of the state, the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has decided to increase the incentive paid to the milk suppliers to the federation from Rs.5 to Rs.6.
A decision in this regard was taken by the KMF chairman Balachandra Jarakiholi. According to Jarakiholi, 8 lakh families will be benefited by this scheme.
According to the sources in the state government, the practice of giving incentive was started in the year 2008 when BS Yediyurappa was the CM.
Meanwhile, the KMF also decided to distribute milk to all the schools instead of milk powder as part of the Ksheera Bhagya scheme. “There is a complaint that milk powder sent to schools are being sold. To put an end to this corruption, we decided to supply milk in sachets instead of powder,” he stated.
