Bengaluru: Minister for Urban Development Byrati Basavaraj has directed all Regional Commissioners (RC) to work on finalising the date for the Mayoral elections.
Speaking to mediapersons on Monday April 18 he said that the government is committed to having Mayoral elections soon and that the process has already begun.
He added, “Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has also spoken to officials about this.”
Basavaraj and Joshi inaugurated a Smart Market and a Mobile Library in Bengeri, both developed by Hubballi-Dharwad Smart City Ltd.
He also said that Hubballi-Dharawad will soon be lit with LED lights, for which a tender process has already begun.
Dharawad Deputy Commissioner Nitish Patil, HDSCL MD CW Shakerl Ahmed, HDMC Commissioner B. Gopalkrishna, Former Mayor Veeranna Savadi, corporators Santosh Chavan and Beerappa Khandekar, and others were present.
