Bengaluru: Mini Vidhana Soudhas at Taluk centres will be again named as Taluk Adalita Soudha.
The State Government has decided the same and issued an order to this effect. The order states that the decision of renaming the taluk administrative offices is done in accordance with the official language policy and State’s linguistic culture as Kannada being State’s official language.
Following this, the State Revenue Department has issued a circular instructing all regional commissioners, district collectors and tahsildars to take steps to name all Mini Vidhana Soudhas as Taluk Adalitha Soudha.
It can be recalled that the use of word ‘Mini’ in Mini Vidhana Soudha was objected to by the Chairman of Kannada Development Authority, Kannda writers, and others meanwhile suggesting to rename the same as Taluk Adalitha Soudha, a pure Kannda name.
