Bengaluru: State social welfare minister H Anjaneya who belongs to SC (Madiga) community is reportedly planning to start a new mutt for the Madara community.
According to the reliable sources, presently this caste has Madara Chennaiah Swamiji as its pontiff and mutt is located in Chitradurga city. But upset by Swamiji’s leaning towards the RSS and the BJP, H Anjaneya wants to set up a new mutt.
As per the proposal, new mutt will come up in Hampi of Koppal district. “This mutt will be named by Matanga Swamiji, who is a mythological figure. A trust has been already floated,” said sources.
According to the sources, the BJP wants to field Madara Chennaiah Swamiji against H Anjaneya in Chitradurga. “This move has irked H Anjaneya. So he wants to promote a parallel pontiff,” sources confirmed.
On Monday, differences between the Swamiji and the minister broke out infront of CM Siddaramaiah who tried to sort out the problem. “But it failed,” sources said.
