Bengaluru: Religious Endowments, Wakf and Haj Minister Shashikala Jolle on Sunday September 5 has allayed fear of people of Vijayapura District over tremors felt in the region, stating that Geologist have been asked to study the phenomenon and that Vijayapura District Administration has taken all the precautionary measures.
Jolle in a press release has stated that Disaster Management Unit in Bengaluru has been asked to be on alert and the personnel will soon visit Vijayapura. Therefore there is nothing to worry, she added.
Further, she has stated that she has already discussed the situation with Deputy Commissioner P. Sunil Kumar and Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal of Vijayapura District and that they have assured her that no loss of lives has occurred and that everything is in control. Every Taluk Heads have been asked to be alert too, she informed.
It can be recalled here that people from North Karnataka region, especially districts Vijaypura and Belagavi had felt the tremors Saturday mid night, which had sent them to frenzy.
