Four members of the Khudadad Masjid committee in Tipu Nagar narrowly escaped injury after miscreants threw hollow bricks at their SUV from the BGS (Mysuru Road) flyover in Bengaluru. The incident occurred around 2:30 AM on January 14 as they were returning from a meeting on Ramzan preparations.
The Incident
The occupants—Syed Masood, Mehaboob Khan (committee president), Syed Mardan Baba, and Rizwan—were shocked when bricks hit the vehicle’s roof, bonnet, and windshield near the Tipu Nagar entrance. Upon exiting the SUV, they saw three individuals fleeing the scene.
Police Action
A complaint was filed at the Chamarajpet police station. Authorities quickly identified and secured the suspects, who are reportedly known to the victims. A senior police officer confirmed that the case has been registered under sections of the IPC for attempt to murder and mischief.
Damage and Investigation
While the SUV sustained significant damage, the occupants were unharmed. Investigations are ongoing to establish the motive behind the attack and gather further evidence.
