Bengaluru: A dog worth Rs 8 crores, which went missing recently, was found on Sunday, December 22.

The dog, an Alaskan Malamute (Chinese breed), had gone missing from its owner, N Chethan’s residence on December 12.

According to Chethan, the dog was tied inside the compound and was all by itself. When he went to check on it, the dog had disappeared. The worried owner immediately filed a complaint with the Hanumantha Nagar Police as he believed that someone had stolen his dog. He even announced an Rs 1 lakh cash award for the person who finds his pet.

When announcing that his dog had gone missing, Chethan had made a huge deal about the issue. He described his pet’s looks and also laid a lot of emphasis on how much the dog had cost him- Rs 8 crores. He had mentioned the amount even in his police complaint.

It was only after the police found and handed over the dog back to him that Chethan revealed that the dog was actually worth Rs 2 lakhs.

According to Chethan, the person who sold him the dog had exaggerated its price and told him that it is the most expensive dog in the world. He said that the dog cost Rs 8 crores, but when Chethan did some research online, he found out that the dog was actually worth Rs 2 lakhs and bought the dog at this price.

He explained that he quoted the dog’s price as Rs 8 crores as he wanted to make a big deal out of it so that he would get his dog back.
