Bengaluru: MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi stayed away from the cabinet expansion meet held here on Wednesday, December 5 and this has led to numerous speculations.

Till date, in the 12 cabinet expansion meets convened Ramesh has attended only two.

The questions at large are whether Ramesh is unhappy with D K Shivakumar or is there some other reason.

According to sources, he attended the previous cabinet expansion meet due to compulsion by some of the Congress leaders.

Because of his indifference towards the Congress party and the coalition government decisions, it was speculated that he would defect to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

When the media persons had questioned him regarding the same, Ramesh had said that there was no reason for him to quit Congress party and that it was all cooked up by the media itself.

According to the political experts, these speculations might have arisen due to the statements of the BJP leaders that the coalition government had a short lifespan.
