Bengaluru: Amid Covid-19 scare, the hundi collection in major temples of the state witnessed a robust growth.
In Male Mahadeshwara Swamy temple, atop the MM hills of Chamarajanagar district, the hundi collection crossed Rs.2 crores in 54 days.
According to the temple authorities, the temple hundi was opened on Saturday after the gap of 54 days.
At the time of counting, Rs.2.21 cr cash was found in the temple hundis. A total of 40 grams of gold and 1,657 gram of silver was also found.
According to the authorities, temple visit was restricted many times in the last 54 days due to the fear of Covid 19. However, generous donation for the temple continued.
