Mohammed Nalapad sent to Parappana Agrahara jail for 14 days

Bengaluru: A local court has ordered 14 days of imprisonment to MLA Harris’ son Mohammed Nalapad in the assault case, here on February 21.

The Bengaluru 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court in its verdict ordered imprisonment till March 7 to Nalapad and his associates.

Nalapad will be sent to Parappana Agrahara after completing medical tests at Bowring Hospital.

Mohammed Nalapad, son of Congress MLA N A Haris, was arrested on February 19 morning in connection with an assault case. Nalpad’s five associates were also arrested the previous day.

The incident occurred on February 17 night when Nalapad had allegedly assaulted and threatened to kill a 24-year-old man over a trivial matter.

The Cubbon Park Police had registered an FIR against Nalapad under IPC sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation), 143 and 144 (unlawful assembly), 146 and 147 (rioting), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).

The victim, Vidvat, is currently recovering at Mallya Hospital in the city. According to TV reports, Nalapad had gone into hiding in a farmhouse in Hosur.
