Bengaluru: Not even a day since health officials got a woman arriving from Italy admitted to a hospital for showing symptoms of the deadly coronavirus (covid-19), a person in Bengaluru has tested positive for the virus infection.
According to reports, the person is said to be a resident of Mumbai.
Reports say that on March 6, he travelled from Greece to Mumbai and later, on March 8, landed at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), along with his brother. On March 9, he reported to his job and spoke to four of his friends, as well as the other 154 employees of the company.
Interestingly, he was admitted to a hospital as he was unwell. When tested, his samples came back positive for covid-19.
Meanwhile, the health officials have collected all his travel details prior to his admission to the hospital, and have taken all necessary precautionary measures.
This effectively brings the total of covid-19 cases in the “Silicon City” to five.
It can be recalled that earlier today, health officials had admitted a woman who had flown in from Italy to the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital after she showed symptoms of the covid-19 infection. The doctors have, however, confirmed that her health condition is normal and that the blood samples have been sent to the laboratory for testing. The reports are yet to be ascertained.
