Bengaluru:  Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced on Sunday April 24 that the work of Mysuru Film City will begin this year.

He was speaking at a function to celebrate Dr. Rajkumar’s 94th birth anniversary and to give the Priyadarshini State Film Awards for 2017.

“Without anyone asking for it, we have declared in the State budget this year a subsidy for 200 Kannada and regional language films, which is an increase from the previous limit of 125 films. Work on Mysuru’s Film City will begin this year,” said CM Bommai.

Director S. Narayan received the Puttanna Kanagal Award, while renowned actress Lakshmi received the Dr. Rajkumar Award for lifetime achievement.
