Bengaluru: A civil and sessions court in the city has granted interim bail to Nagarathna, first wife of Sandalwood actor Duniya Vijay, in a case of alleged assault on Keerthi Gowda, the actor’s second wife.
The interim bail was granted on Monday evening, November 5, after Nagarathna’s advocates applied for it, despite opposition from the prosecution. For this, the court directed Nagarathna to furnish two sureties of Rs 50,000 each.
Nagarathna’s advocates have also alleged that her daughters are being harassed by the police in the name of investigation. They also pointed out that the children want to stay with their mother for the Deepavali festival.
Nagarathna is facing charges of assaulting Keerthi Gowda in September when Duniya Vijay was in prison. The assault was captured on CCTV footage.
