Bengaluru: The juducial custody of Mohammed Haris Nalapad, who was arrested for brutally attacking Vidvath Loganathan at Farzi Cafe in UB City on February 17 and who is currently in Parappana Agrahara prison, has been extended once again, till May 11.

Nalapad’s legal team tried to secure his bail by trying to use the delay of the filing of the charge sheet against him. They argued that an accused would be eligible for bail if a charge sheet is not filed against them within 60 days of arrest. Vidvath’s team however, clarified that it was 90 days and not 60 in such cases.

Assuring that the charge sheet would be filed within the 90 day time frame, a member of Vidvath’s legal team said that a probe into the incident was on and statements were being taken from witnesses.

Nalapad surrendered to the Cubbon Park police station on February after a huge public outcry post the violent attack on Vidvath. Nalapad and his friends were accused of assaulting Vidvat after an argument broke out between the two parties at the cafe on February 17.
