Bengaluru: Here is good news for the commuters of Namma Metro in Bengaluru. If all goes well, the commuters of Namma Metro would be able to withdraw cash within metro stations at 17 locations within two months.
According to reliable sources, the Benagaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has selected five banks to set up Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) at Namma Metro stations.
It may be recalled the BMRCL had advertised locations in 22 stations on the Purple and Green lines for fixing ATMs. Sources informed that the BMRCL selected five banks among the 25 banks that applied to set up ATMs. Sources also said that there was a lot of interest but because the closing date of the tender was during the holidays this month, a few banks could not complete their applications. “As a result, some stations did not get bids. But this will be set right in the coming days with another tender,’’ said a senior BMRCL official.
