Bengaluru: The State Government is all set to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the primary education sector from the next academic year. A task force has been formed under the Chairmanship of former IAS officer M. Madan Gopal.
A decision in this regard was announced by Primary and Secondary Education Minister B. C. Nagesh.
It can be recalled here that the State Government has already implemented NEP in the higher education level from this year itself.
“In the first year, the NEP will be introduced for classes 3, 6 and 9. It will be expanded to various classes in a phased manner. NGOs are requested to join hands with the government in regard to implementing the new policy,” he said.
He also informed that except at a Kodagu school, there is no Covid – 19 cluster outbreak in any of the schools across the state. “Children are attending marriages, events, etc. Why not to school? Schools are safe for them,” he said.
