Bengaluru: The South Western Railway (SWR) will stop advance booking for Karwar/ Kannur express via Mysuru from February 10, 2018. According to the SWR officials, a decision in this regard has been taken as this train will be operated via Kunigal-Hassan new route.
“From February 10, a new booking system will be introduced,” said an officer. The Railway board has allowed the SWR to divert the highly popular Karwar/ Kannur express route from February. So we are rescheduling everything, he said.
According to the officials, the distance between Bengaluru-Mangaluru via Mysuru is 485 kilo meters while distance between Bengaluru-Mangaluru via Kunigal: 395 kilo meter. This new route will save around two hours time for the passengers.
As per the decision, this train will be operated via Kunigal four days in a week while on the other three days it will travel via Mysuru.
