Bengaluru: In a sign of the Covid curve flattening, only 772 new cases were registered while 1,261 recovered across Karnataka in a day.
“With 772 new cases on Sunday, the state’s Covid tally rose to 9,10,241, including 14,001 active, while recoveries went up to 8,84,205, with 1,261 discharged in the last 24 hours,” said the state’s health bulletin on Monday.
Of the seven who succumbed to the infection in the day, five were from Bengaluru, taking the state’s death toll to 12,016 and of the city to 4,273.
The city reported 363 fresh cases, taking its tally to 3,83,231, including 9,256 active, while recoveries rose to 3,69,701, with 709 discharged in the day.
Of the 219 patients in the intensive care units (ICUs) across the southern state, 102 are in Bengaluru hospitals, 15 in Kalaburagi and 12 in Tumakuru.
Out of 73,651 tests conducted on Sunday, 4,358 were through rapid-antigen detection and 69,293 through RT-PCR method.
“The state’s positive rate for the day was 1.04 per cent and the case fatality rate 0.90 per cent,” added the bulletin.
