Bengaluru: Members of the Cubbon Park Walkers’ Association has submitted a letter to Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy, demanding security in the park premises on New Year’s Eve.

According to S Umesh, president, Cubbon Park Walkers’ Association, security will be deployed around Vikasa Soudha, Vidhana Soudha and the High Court on December 31, but there are no arrangements made for Cubbon Park. There is no night patrolling, too, Umesh said.

The letter states: “On December 31, there will be a spillover of a huge crowd in and around Cubbon Park because of the presence of three clubs in the vicinity. Thus, we request the state government to ensure that adequate security arrangements are made within the park premises to prevent any untoward incidents.”

The letter also makes an appeal to the government to ensure that the flora and fauna of the park is not disturbed, and cleanliness is maintained.
