Bengaluru: Naxal movement in Karnataka has been hit by a death knell now with the arrest of last two remaining naxal leaders from Chikkamagaluru District. They were arrested in Kerala by National Investigation Agency (NIA) police.
B. G. Krishnamurthy and Savitri are the arrested naxal leaders.
B. G. Krishnamurthy who is popularly called as BGK was serving as the Secretary of Western Ghats Special Task Force of Naxals.
Even though many of his associates have surrendered before the Karnataka police, BGK continued to organise the movement in the Western Ghats region of the State.
With the arrest of both the leaders, naxal movement in the State is expected to lose its steam.
