Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has denied rumours that Bengaluru will have a meat ban on Tuesday May 2 when Eid-ul-Fitr falls along with Basava Jayanti.
Owing to the coincidence of two festivities on the same day, there has been a widespread rumour that the sale of meat will be prohibited during Eid.
According to sources, the Urban Development Board has not designated Basava Jayanti as a day when meat sales are prohibited.
