No OPD services in private hospitals on November 3

opd hospitalBengaluru: All the private nursing homes of the state will not operate their Out Patient Departments (OPDs) on Friday, November 3, in protest against the proposed Karnataka Private Medical Establishment (KPME) act 2015.

As per the decision taken by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), state unit, all the nursing homes will operate only trauma and regular inpatient services.

The IMA also warned that if the issue is not resolved amicably, the medicos from the state will make an announcement that they will quit medical profession on November 10 en masse.

According to the sources in the state health department, IMA state unit has already sent a communication to the state government in this regard. “Even the general physicians operating own clinics have also warned that they will shut down their clinics on November 3,” informed an officer.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has convened a meeting on Thursday to resolve all the issues.
