‘No vacancy,’ says HDK to Parameshwara’s promotion dreams!

Bengaluru: DCM Dr G Parameshwara’s statement that he is ready to become Chief Minister if the high command decides has created an uneasy atmosphere in the ruling JDS-Congress alliance. Within a few minutes of the DCM’s statement, two prominent Vokkaliga leaders- CM H D Kumaraswamy and major irrigation minister D K Shivakumar, hit back stating that the CM’s post is not vacant.

CM H D Kumaraswamy stated that everyone has their own ambitions. “But as of now, the CM’s post is not vacant. When the vacancy arises he can apply for the post,” HDK told the DCM.

D K Shivakumar stated that many seniors and strong leaders are in the race for the CM’s post in the Congress and Dr Parameshwar is not alone. “Let the high command decide who is strong and who is capable,” he stated.

Meanwhile, newly elected Ballari MP V S Ugrappa stated that he would be the happiest person if Dr Parameshwar becomes the CM. “But in the Congress, many senior leaders are in the waiting and seniority and contribution to the party will be taken into consideration while deciding the CM candidate,” he said.
