Bengaluru: With the victory of Srinivas Mane, a Congress leader from Hanagal Constituency in the by-election, the number of MLAs in the Assembly with the name Srinivas has touched 7.
Halady Srinivas Shetty (Kundapura), S. R. Srinivas (Gubbi), Srinivas Gowda (Kolar), Akhanda Srinivas Murthy (Pulakeshinagar), Srinivasamurthy (Nelamangala), and M. Srinivas (Mandya),are the other six MLAs.
According to the leaders, generally the MLAs are called by their second name. So, they maintain that there will be no problems or confusion. “Srinivas Shetty Halady is popularly called as Haladi Shetru and so on,” explained a leader.
The next common name in the Assembly is Basavaraj with four MLAs having this common name including State Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
