Bengaluru: Over 30,000 applications for guest lecturers have been received so far after a call for applications was issued earlier this week. According to sources, the submissions will close at midnight on Friday January 21.
Department of Collegiate and Technical Education Commissioner P. Pradeep has announced that over 30,000 applications for guest lecturers at government first-year colleges had been submitted as of Thursday.
Guest lecturers have been protesting for months in order to secure better benefits and salary, and their honoraria were recently increased. According to the commissioner, the rise in remuneration may have had a positive impact and encouraged professors to apply.
He also added that people who are still interested in applying for the positions can do so until January 21 at midnight. Applications can be made through https://dec.karnataka/gov.in.
