Bengaluru: An all-women team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Friday October 1 seized 640 grams of the recreational drug Crystal Methamphetamine, worth nearly Rs 3.2 crore, from a train passenger.
The arrested was hailing from Odisha and was travelling in the general coach of the Prashanti Express (KSR Bengaluru City to Bhubaneswar).
As per reports, the 6-member team of RPF Shakthi headed by Tanuja NP, ASI, noticed a passenger who was behaving suspiciously. When the train reached Yelahanka, he avoided them and moved in the opposite direction.
When the accused tried to flee as the train stopped at Hindupur, the team surrounded him from all directions. He later confessed to carrying the banned drugs.
He was handed over to the Government Railway Police and has been booked under Section 20 (b) of the Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act.
