Bengaluru: A case has been filed complaint against a local journalist and his cameraman who allegedly filmed Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanvir Sait watching sleazy pictures on his phone at a public function at Raichur. The minister had earlier filed a complaint against the duo on the basis of which police filed the case.

According to senior police officer SB Patil the reporter and the cameraman of the news channel who flashed the news have been charged under Indian Penal Code section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace).

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday had said that he would not support Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanvir Sait if he committed a mistake. “A mistake is a mistake, whether it is committed by BJP leaders or others,” the chief minister said. He had also said Sait, who spoke to him, had claimed that he was only scrolling through messages received on WhatsApp and someone had posted the pictures there purposefully.

Minister Tanveer Sait landed into trouble on November 10 after a video footage emerged showing him purportedly watching sleazy pictures on his mobile on stage at a public function to mark Tipu Sultan’s anniversary celebrations in Raichur district.
