Bengaluru: Within a week after submitting 18% fare revision proposal, all the state-run transport corporations including BMTC and KSRTC have withdrawn the proposal. According to the sources, ticket fare may remain same till the end of the Lok Sabha election 2019.
Speaking to the reporters, transport minister DC Thammanna informed that the proposal has been withdrawn as the diesel prices are coming down. “We will send the new proposal only after considering the diesel prices,” he said.
According to the sources, CM HD Kumaraswamy instructed the state-run transport corporations not to send any ticket fare revision proposal till the end of the Lok Sabha election. “Any revision in the ticket fare may affect the poll outcome. So the state government doesn’t want to take any chances,” said an officer from the transport department.
