Bengaluru: An eight-month pregnant, who is expecting her first baby donated her husband’s organs after he was declared brain dead.
Chandana, a resident of Yelahanka is the woman who agreed for the organ donation of her husband who had met an accident on Wednesday.
“Chandana’s husband, RR Sharath Babu was a drone operator. On Wednesday night while returning from work he had met with an accident. He was rushed to a private hospital in Yesvantpur and on Sunday, doctors informed his family members that he is brain dead,” police informed.
“As Chandana was eight months pregnant, no one was in a position to request for organ donation. But she and the family members of Sharath Babu voluntarily offered organs. The body was handed over to the relatives after harvesting organs from the body,” they added.
“She is the real hero. She has done the unthinkable,” the police said.
