Bengaluru: Kodagu police launched a preliminary investigation into the alleged threat call to Madikeri MLA Appachu Ranjan. A person had reportedly called him through internet phone and asked him why he is opposing Tipu related issues like removal of Tipu lessons from textbooks, ban on Tipu Jayanti etc.
But Appachu Ranjan clarified that the caller didn’t threaten him with any serious consequences. “I asked the caller to meet me and hold a debate,” he said.
As this call was made on the Tipu Jayanti day, it sent shock waves. Police security continued across the Kodagu district.
