Bengaluru: Here is a positive story amid lockdown. A progressive farmer from Chikkaballapur has come forward to help other farmers by offering free ploughing service.
Keeping up his words, he has till now ploughed over 200 acres of farm land using his tractor.
K Yellappa, a progressive farmer from Karim Sonnenahalli village in Doddaballapur taluk is the youth who launched this unique service during this need of hour.
He took up this service from first week of March and has come as saviour to many farmers.
According to Yellappa, the idea behind offering this service to his villagers is to ensure that they will not abandon the farming activities which is the major source of income in the village.
“In my village, farmers don’t have money to prepare their farm land for the monsoon agricultural activities. So I decided to help them. I am ploughing the farm of other farmers during my free time,” he said.
Yellappa is bearing the costs of diesel, the food expenses of his assistant and other expense on his own.
“My village is getting good pre-monsoon rainfall. I want to ensure that farmers will start sowing activities on time and reap good returns,” he said.
