Bengaluru: Opposition leader Siddaramaiah has demanded the resignation of Home Minister Araga Jnanendra stating that the BJP-led dispensation has acknowledged the scam. This comes a day after the State Government announced its decision to cancel the alleged scam-tainted examination held to recruit 545 Police Sub-Inspectors (PSI) in the State and hold re-examination.

In a series of tweets, Siddaramaih wrote that, “When the whole BJP Govt is corrupt, we have no confidence that PSI scam investigation by CID will be fair & impartial. The investigation should be monitored by sitting High Court judge.”

“Is the choice to retake the PSI 545 exam an attempt to ensure justice to honest candidates or is it an attempt to save the scam’s masterminds? On what moral grounds can he continue as Home Minister? He should immediately resign for an impartial investigation to continue,” he added.

“Our Police Department cannot work under this fake and inefficient Chowkidar,” he claimed, alleging that Jnanendra thinks his primary responsibility is to protect corrupt, murderers, and rapists.

If the PSI exam is re-conducted under the incompetent Home Minister, it will come as no surprise if the new PSIs are corrupt and inefficient as well, he said.
