Bengaluru: Speculation was rife on Friday that Mahadevappa had got the nod from chief minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC president G Parameshwara to shift from T Narasipura to CV Raman Nagar in Bengaluru east.
There are already two contenders for the ticket from C V Raman Nagar — P Ramesh, the party’s candidate who lost to the BJP candidate S Raghu by a margin of 8,214 votes in 2013, and Madan Patel, who defected from the BJP.
According to a source, Mahadevappa is keen on getting a ticket for his son Sunil Bose along with his own, in the upcoming polls. The minister had planned to seek re-election from T Narsipura and get a ticket for his son from Nanjangud constituency, also in Mysuru district.
However, the Nanjangud by-election in April, which the Congress won, has become a prestigious one for local leaders. Congress MP representing Chamarajanagar, R Dhruvanarayan, whose candidate Kalale Keshavamurthy won the by-election, is keen on the latter being re-nominated. Mahadevappa had asked for the Nanjangud ticket for his son during the by-election, but was reportedly told by Siddaramaiah to wait.
