Bengaluru: Probing in to the PU chemistry question paper leakage scam, the CID has taken 20 more persons including 8 students into custody for interrogation on late Thursday evening.
Five students from Bangalore and three from Tumakuru are being interrogated along with a principal of a college.
Sources said that investigating agency has almost reached the final stage of the probe.
It is said that kingpins of the scam are almost zeroed in and they were involved in such activities earlier too.
Meanwhile, CM has convened a high level meeting regarding the issue and is expected to give directions to take stringent action against the culprits.
It is learnt that CID DIG Sonia Narag has detailed the minutes of investigation to CM.
Minister for Education Kimmane Ratnakar and other bureaucrats attached to the department are in line to discuss the matter.
According to reliable sources, students who are under CID scanner have said to be acted upon the directions of a principal to circulate question paper through Whatsapp.
The outcome of the meeting is awaited and CM is expected to address the media then after.
