Bengaluru: The election for the Rajarajeshwari Nagar Assembly Constituency will be held on May 28.
It may be recalled that more than 8,000 fake voter identity cards were confiscated from a house in the R R Nagar Constituency on May 10. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sanjiv Kumar said that the elections were rescheduled to ensure fair elections in the state.
Meanwhile, incumbent Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticised the Election Commission for rescheduling the elections for a frivolous reason.
Talking to the media at Siddaramanahundi in Varuna Constituency, Siddaramaiah said that the Congress candidate had not put any undue influence on the voters, and there was no corruption. “Does the Election Commission have any proof that Congress party candidate was involved in the incident?”, he questioned.
Exuding confidence, the chief minister denied that there would be a hung assembly in the state. He also claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaigning did not have any effect on the voters.
