Ramanagara: It is a sad irony that on the day of Ganesha Chaturthi, an elephant has been electrocuted at Channapattana Taluk here on Friday September 10.
The incident occurred at a farm at N. R. Colony village near Mallangeri village under Tenginakallu Forest Range of the Taluk. The elephant is about 35 to 40 years old.
It was a part of herd of elephants that came in search of fodder. However, the other elephants fled and escaped the accident as the elephant that died trumpted when it touched electric wire.
