Ramanagara: Leaders quit JDS, join Congress

Ramanagara: As the dates for the general elections to the Legislative Assembly are announced, the process of defections has intensified everywhere. In Bidadi too, the process of leaders leaving the parent party and joining another party has picked up pace.

H. S. Yogananda, Former Member of Manchanayanahalli Gram Panchayat, who is also JD (S) District Vice-President, and his wife, Annapoorneshwari, Former President of Bidadi Farmers’ Service Co-operative Society and the current Director, left the JD (S) in the presence of MLC C. M. Lingappa and joined the Congress. Meanwhile, JD (S) Leaders Mahadeva and Manjunath from Hanumanthanagara quit the party and joined the Congress. They were welcomed into the party by the leaders with a shawl.

KPCC Member Byatappa, Bidadi Block Congress President Ganakal Nataraju, Former Ittamadu Gram Panchayat President Bettaswamy, Former ZP Member C. H. Puttaiah, Leaders Giridhar Ramaiah, Hanumanthagowda, Manjunath and others were present.
