Bengaluru: Rebel Congress leader and minister for municipal administration Ramesh Jarakiholi met BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa on Sunday morning.

Even as the scenes in the state looks favourable for the coalition government, the BJP sources said that the leaders discussed a possible ‘Operation Kamala’ to bring down the coalition government.

According to the BJP leaders who were at BSY’s residence at the time of the meeting, BSY informed Jarakiholi that he is ready to offer him the DCM’s post if he is able to make 20 MLAs resign from the coalition government.

“All the MLAs who resign will be given BJP ticket in the by-election. This was the assurance given by the BSY,” said a leader privy to the developments.

“Ramesh didn’t respond to the offer. He asked for more time. Fearing that if the JDS-Congress alliance continue, the BJP may win less than 10 seats in the 2019 general election, party national leadership has given the green signal for the Operation Kamala,” he added.

As the news of Jarakiholi-BSY spread, the JDS and Congress leaders went for a huddle and discussed the government strategy to prevent the government’s collapse.
