Bengaluru: Several students wearing hijab were denied entry to exam centres on the first day of the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) Exams on Monday March 28. They were allowed to enter the halls only if they took their Hijab off.
According to sources, a student who refused to remove Hijab at the Shantiniketan Examination Centre was sent home and not allowed to sit for the exam.
As per the Education Minister’s instruction, any student who arrives for the exam wearing the hijab would be refused entry till they remove it.
