Bengaluru: The higher education department has directed Bengaluru University (BU) to release Rs 25-crore grant for the functioning of its newly formed affiliates Bengaluru Central University (BCU) and Bengaluru North University (BNU).
The department has allocated moveable and immovable assets to the parent varsity, BCU and BNU.
On Friday, the department said BU has to release Rs 15 crore to BCU and Rs 10 crore to BNU for their phase-by-phase infrastructural development. As per an order, all the properties and buildings in Central College, along with the land documents, should be transferred to BCU.
These include auditoriums, hostel and official buildings at its Central campus that will be brought under BCU’s jurisdiction and a plot at the post-graduation centre in Kolar, which is allotted to BNU.
