Bengaluru: Several vehicles including cars and auto rickshaws were damaged after a compound wall collapsed due to heavy down pour in the city.

Rain water had flooded, leaving about 30 apartments in Banashankari, HSR layout, Mysore road, JP Nagar and other areas in water. Many companies have flexed the timings for their employees and have also given option to work from home. Several employees are struck at on roads due to traffic jam.

The situation was much predicted as clearance of encroachment of RajaKaluve still at par as halted due to stay order by court.

The fire and emergency services are into rescue operations to safeguard the residents in trouble. The essential commodities like food, water bottles and milk have been provided through boats with the help of localities. Corporators and local leaders have also joined hands in rescue operations.

Many areas have lost connectivity and literally turned into islands, sources said.

As heavy rains continued to lash the city, people were seen trying to catch fish with fishing nets on Ring road. Water from some of city’s lakes flooded streets of the IT-hub and locals captured fish on the roads with a huge orange net.
