Retired IAS officer’s son ends life; Friends say he was depressed

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a 27-year-old private bank deputy manager committed suicide on Saturday.

According to a report by TOI, the deseaced has been identified as Rohit, son of retired IAS officer Harendra Singh, former personal secretary and adviser to a former chief minister of Jharkhand. His body was found hanging in his Domlur flat on Sunday, November 10 morning.

Rohit had reportedly been living in Bengaluru for the past three years. His family, however, lives in Ranchi.

TOI reports that Rohit, according to the police, had been to a party with three of his friends on Friday, soon after which he returned to his flat in Domlur. When their phone calls to Rohit went unanswered on Saturday, his friends rushed to his apartment on Sunday. Upon finding the flat locked, they informed the building owner and broke the door open, only to find his dead body.

According to his friends, Rohit was depressed and a loner. They added that he did not mix with either his colleagues of friends.
