Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa had a midnight visitor on Wednesday, November 13. It was none other than former minister Roshan Baig, the disqualified MLA from Shivajinagar. With BJP declining to admit him in the party due to his connection in the IMA scam, Baig reportedly discussed his political future with the Chief Minister.
According to sources, Baig requested support from the BJP if he contests as an independent candidate. He cited the Mandya and Hosakote electoral experiments where rival parties came together to support a common candidate.
Sources close to the Chief Minister said that Yediyurappa told Baig that he will discuss the issue with party leaders. He further informed Baig that since the IMA scam is being investigated by the CBI, he needs to seek the advice of BJP central leaders in this regard.
