Bengaluru: A BBMP Chief Engineer assigned to the Technical Vigilance Cell under the Commissioner (TVCC) was transferred on Saturday May 21.
Doddaiah A. B. is suspected of being involved in the RR Nagar Assembly constituency’s Rs. 118 Crore fraud. He was recently given additional charges as the Chief engineer for the BBMP’s West Zone, which drew criticism.
The claim is that for works approved under the Chief Minister’s Nava Nagarothana project, fake bills for Rs. 118.26 Cr were submitted to the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited.
The TVCC was established to uncover financial fraud in the BBMP, but according to the Lokayukta investigation, staff deployed there, forged bills for work that was never completed.
