Bengaluru: In yet another cash haul, Mahadevapura police seized Rs 12 lakh in new currency notes of Rs 2000 denomination on Saturday, November 2.
The currency shipped from Anathpur in Andhrapradesh to Bengaluru in a Maruti Alto car was seized near Mahadevapura petrol bunk by the police. One Ishwarappa was arrested.
When quizzed by police, Ishwarappa failed to produce any documents but only said the cash belonged to his relatives. After initial investigation, police handed over Ishwarappa to Income Tax authorities.
