Bengaluru: The four accused in the murder of RSS member Rudresh on October 16 were remanded in police custody for 14 days.
Bengaluru police who interrogated the four informed that the accused reportedly returned to the scene of the crime a few hours after the murder to ascertain the ground situation. The accused went to a house in Sanjaynagar where they changed their clothes and then returned to Shivajinagar, the scene of the crime. They left the city after sometime seeing the protests and returned two days later, police said.
Police also said that the accused also showed the place where they had disposed off the machete that was used in the murder. A police team is trying to trace the weapon, informed police.
“Though the accused confessed to the crime that was committed for personal reasons, the police are probing the possible role of others in the crime,” sources said.
It may be recalled that Rudresh, an RSS activist, was hacked to death on October 16 while he was speaking with his friends on Kamaraj Road. It was said that Rudresh had returned from a RSS route march when the assailants had attacked him.
