RSS activist murder: Section 144 to continue till Thursday night

Bengaluru: N S Megharikh, Police Commissioner of Bengaluru on Tuesday extended prohibitory orders in the limits of four police stations in Bengaluru east till midnight of October 20 to maintain law and order in view of the murder of a RSS activist.

RSS activist hacked to death in Bengaluru-1Megharikh, in a release, said the Section 144 would be in force till Thursday night in areas under police stations of Commercial Street, Bharathi Nagar, Pulakeshinagar, Shivajinagar to maintain law and order situation. “There are chances of the activists of various organizations staging protest, road rook and agitation during the funeral procession of the deceased Rudresh. I consider it apt to extend the prohibitory orders to maintain law and order in Bengaluru west,’’ Megharikh said in a release.

It may be recalled the Police Commissioner had imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 on Sunday to prevent any untoward incidents during the bandh. Two bike-borne miscreants hacked Rudresh, a RSS activist, to death on Kamaraj Road in Commercial Street Police Station limits on Sunday morning.
