Bengaluru: Karnataka unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday appealed to Governor Vajubhai Rudrabhai Vala to prevail upon the state government to handover the cases of murders of RSS and BJP activists to the National Investigating Agency (NIA) in order to unearth the motive and expose the perpetrators of the crime.
B S Yeddyurappa, president, BJP-Karnataka, accompanied by Leader of Opposition Jagadish Shettar, MLAs CT Ravi, Aravinda Limbavali, R Ashok, submitted the memorandum to Governor Vajubhai Rudrabhai Vala. “Karnataka BJP is convinced that the Congress government is bent upon allowing the killers to have a field day and is not keen to trace the assailants in any of these cases. It is now clear that the Congress is interested only in its vote-bank politics at the cost of lives of the nationalist forces. We cannot afford to keep quiet, as our workers are becoming victims to Popular Front of India (PFI) goons. We want some concrete action in order to send a strong message to the perpetrators of the crime,” the memorandum said.
It has listed the killings that have taken place during the last 36 months in Karnataka. According to the memorandum, Phanindra, who was returning home after attending the RSS meeting was grievously attacked by assailants in Vidyaranyapura last year. Dileep, a RSS worker, was brutally assaulted near Muthyalanagar. Ramesh Vaishnav, an RSS activist, was attacked near Tulsi Park in Upparpet. Praveen Poojaru of Kushal Nagar was brutally murdered on August 14. Rajesh alias Raju Kotian, a fisherman at Ullal Mogaveerapatna, was hacked to death by six people belonging to a specific community. BJP ZP member Yogishgouda Goudar was stabbed to death. N Srinivas, the husband of Devasandra corporator R Manjula was hacked to death in KR Puram.
